Embracing Possibilities
COACHING PROMPT OF THE WEEK
“What do you believe is possible?”
Leaders excel at looking for barriers to getting things done or have a keen eye for mitigating risk. This can have the unintended consequence of failing to see opportunities or inhibiting our ability to take measured chances. Consider asking leaders that you’re working with what they believe is possible, without any boundaries. Here are a few probing questions to ask along the way:
What evidence do you have to support this belief?
What might be holding you back from believing this is fully possible?
What steps could you take to move closer to this possibility?
Remember that coaching isn’t telling! Coaching is about staying curious and making space for those in our care to become confident authors of their own stories.
