What steps can you take to make your dream career a reality?....

COACHING PROMPT OF THE WEEK

“What steps can you take to make your dream career a reality?”

Leaders are often in the position to mentor and coach others to get more out of their careers. This prompt is a great starting point for a coaching conversation about career goals. It encourages the individual to take ownership of their dream career and break it down into actionable steps. By fostering a supportive environment where the team member feels motivated and inspired, you can help them create a vision and a plan to move closer to their goals. You might consider asking some of these probing questions:

  • What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop to achieve your dream career?

  • What are the biggest challenges you anticipate facing in your pursuit of this career?

  • What resources or support systems can you tap into to help you succeed?

Remember that coaching isn’t telling! Coaching is about staying curious and making space for those in our care to become confident authors of their own stories.
