What’s alive in you today?...

COACHING PROMPT OF THE WEEK
“What’s alive in you today?”
This prompt is a bit abstract and exotic, which can be perfect for helping yourself or your team members feel out their response and invite deep introspection. This question fosters self-awareness by encouraging individuals to connect with what matters most to them in the moment. It also builds trust by demonstrating a genuine curiosity and desire to help develop the person you’re coaching.
Questions like this can help identify motivators, foster self-awareness, and spark creativity! And over time, regularly engaging with such reflective questions can enhance emotional intelligence, foster resilience, and strengthen the team’s overall dynamics by encouraging vulnerability and mutual understanding. Consider asking these additional questions:
What emotions are you feeling right now?
What thoughts are occupying your mind today?
What are you passionate about right now?
Remember that coaching isn’t telling! Coaching is about staying curious and making space for those in our care to become confident authors of their own stories.

“What gets measured gets managed” – Peter Drucker
It’s been my experience, both inside and outside of the laboratory, that if something is being tracked and quantified, it will receive more attention and focus. This is true in business and for setting personal, transformative goals.
BE A FORCE MULTIPLIER!
Consider examining your line of business and have a discussion about measurement. Are you measuring the right things? Are you examining both quantitative and qualitative measures? Is the frequency and depth of your measurement telling you a story about how your business is performing? Consider a gap analysis of what you’re measuring and what parts of your business deserve more attention.
